· The A629 Phase 1b (part 2) scheme progresses through decision point 5 (full business case with finalised costs) and work commences on delivery.
· Approval to the Combined Authority’s contribution of £16,639,000 (which will be funded from the West Yorkshire plus Transport Fund (WY+TF) is given. The scheme secured approval of £11,480,000 to date (FBC+(1) December 2020). The total scheme value is £28,119,000.
· The Combined Authority enters into an addendum to the existing Funding Agreement with Calderdale Council for expenditure of up to £28,119,000 from the WY+TF fund.
To ensure funding is in place to enable construction work to start on this scheme which will deliver improvements to the A629 to the south of Halifax between Elland Wood Bottom and Salterhebble Hill. The scheme will specifically address the current pinch point of the A629/A6026 Calder & Hebble junction, to reduce congestion levels and deliver journey time savings for all traffic.
