The Combined Authority receives 100% of the
Business Rates generated within the EZ sites for a period of 25
years from date of designation (up to March 2042 for phase 2 sites,
which includes Clifton). Calderdale Council have asked the Combined
Authority, as accountable body for the LEP, to consider the
passporting of future business rates from the Clifton site to the
Council to support prudential borrowing for capital required to
deliver the full scheme of enabling works.
Resolved: That in respect of the Clifton (Calderdale) Enterprise Zone Business Rates Receipt, the Combined Authority approves that, subject to the conditions in the submitted report, Calderdale Council retains future business rates income generated from the Clifton Enterprise Zone (up to March 2042).
