Brexit Business Support Scheme

Approval to deliver the Brexit Business Support Scheme from November 2019 to March 2021, with a review at March 2020.

Decision type: Key

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Notice of proposed decision first published: 23/09/2019

This decision will be taken under urgency procedures.

Reason for urgency:
The scheme needs to be ready to commence delivery from November 2019 onwards in order to respond to the needs of businesses if there is a No Deal Brexit at the end of 31 October 2019. The fluid nature of Brexit, and the need for the scheme to be informed by direct intelligence from businesses, has prevented the scheme being designed any earlier than now. Approval will be sought from the CA to enable the swift delivery of the Brexit Business Support scheme in the event of a non-negotiated exit from the EU via the allocation of £2m from the Business Growth Programme budget.
