Covid-19: Update on Data and Impacts pdf icon PDF 164 KB

Additional documents:

Minutes:

The Panel considered a report which provided an update on the impacts of Covid-19.

Members asked the following questions and comments:

·       The differences in the economic profile in Yorkshire compared with the rest of the United Kingdom which might explain the difference in covid transmission rate eg. Do more people in Yorkshire have to physically go to work during the pandemic.

·       Income was a proxy for the propensity to work from home – those on lower income were less able to work from home but hard data would be useful.

·       The correlation between higher transmission rates and deprivation should be explored. The role of high density multi-generational housing and low income jobs meaning that people are unable to isolate when advised to.

·       That it would be beneficial if officers from public health teams could attend a future meeting.

Resolved: That the report be noted.
