                The A61 South corridor scheme proceeds through decision point 5 of the Combined Authority’s assurance process and work commences on activity 6 (Delivery)

                Approval to the Combined Authority’s contribution of £18.037 million funded through the Leeds Public Transport Investment Programme is given towards a total project cost is £18.247 million.

                The Combined Authority enters into an addendum to the existing Funding Agreement with Leeds City Council for expenditure up to £18.037 million from the Leeds Public Transport Investment Programme fund.

 

Reasons for the decision:

To enable work to commence on the A61 corridor scheme to the south of Leeds city centre with works consisting of a series of improvements along the A639 and A61 between M621 Junction 7 and the junction of A61 Great Wilson Street and Meadow Lane. This including the provision of new bus lanes along the corridor (in both directions), bus priority measures at signals, improvements to the Thwaite Gate junction, dedicated walking and cycling facilities and improvements to urban realm and green infrastructure.
